Following in your footsteps, I now watched both Chimera and Lazzaro and will see others too - I only knew about Alice because of her talented sister Alba (fantastic in I'm Love and these films) but glad you wrote these reviews to introduce me to her work.

I just two days ago saw Corpo celeste for review purposes for Finnish newspaper Keskipohjanmaa. Corpo celeste is on TV today, which is Midsommer in Finland. Thank you for your beautiful essay.

After seeing the film I had to read Flannery O'Connor's A Temple of the Holy Ghost, because Corpo celeste brought it to mind. There's a convent school in that and the sisters' teaching is a bit like Santa's. And also O'Connor, like Rohrwacher, connects "heavenly body" to sexual body.

I also thought the ending was very beautiful and touching (as was the baptism), and also optimistic: what were the boys building throughout the film? Probably a better world for the future.

Midsommer greetings from Finland! ~(;^)~
